Deer in Torry are to be culled unless residents can raise enough money by May to save them.
As part of the “Tree for every citizen” campaign more than 100,000 trees are being planted across the city by the council.
One of the locations, Tullos Hill is home to a herd of Deer which are to be removed.
An initiative to tackle anti-social behaviour in an Aberdeen community has been hailed a success.
After 300 calls were made by residents complaining of noise, vandalism and underage drinking in Torry over a twelve month period a dispersal zone was put in place.
An event was held on Monday at Torry Academy showing young people what there is to do in the area in a final push to deter young people from hanging around on streets.
The order allowed Police to ban young people from the area for 24 hours with the threat of arrest if not adhered to.
Outreach meetings are to be held in Torry to let residents vocalise concerns in order to develop a better awareness of issues affecting the community.
Sessions will be held fortnightly at Torry Library and other venues which have yet to be confirmed.
Residents in Torry were given their chance to voice their view on the renovation plans for Union Terrace Gardens at a meeting held by Torry Community Council.
Friends of UTG want to protect the gardens from development. The group have been holding meetings with community councils throughout Aberdeen to gain support for their campaign.
Operation Maple has been awarded £50,000 by the Fairer Scotland Fund.
The operation aims to tackle drugs, violence and anti-social behavior around Aberdeen and has so far been a success in Torry.
As reported previously by the Torry Herald, Operation Maple made a series of arrests in Torry as well as seizing over £100,00 worth of drugs.
Further funding will allow the operation to continue.
A Karate club in Torry faces closure if it does not receive further funding this year.
The youth karate club which began in 2007 has over one hundred members, drawn from some of the most deprived areas of the city.
